Remembering the Life of the Rev. James W. Fletcher
The Rev. Jim Fletcher, surrounded by loved ones, died peacefully at home in Scarborough, Maine, on December 28, 2022. Jim and Paula Fletcher came to Presque Isle in 1980 when Jim became our settled pastor. He served our church from 1980 - 1987. After leaving Presque Isle, Jim became pastor of State Street Congregational Church, UCC, in Portland (ME) and later served as Senior Chaplain of the Woodfords Congregational Church, UCC, in Portland. We will keep Paula, son Christopher and family, and daughter Peggy and family in our thoughts and prayers. We also remember the wonderful time we had with Jim and Paula at our 150th Celebration.
Woodfords Congregational Church, UCC will host a celebration of Jim’s life on Saturday, January 7 at 2pm. All are invited to attend the service in person (202 Woodford Street, Portland, ME) or watch the livestream.
In lieu of flowers, Jim and his family encourage a donation to the United Church of Christ's Christmas Fund, which supports church workers with financial need.
